One of my many affiliations is with a company/team that one of my best friends owns and operates called Sk8TheTown. The company is for an extreme sport called Freeline skating that originated right here in the Bay Area.
The original logo served it's purpose well for the early stages of the company but recently my friend has been trying to come up with a new logo that is a bit more descriptive in it's look. We consider ourselves more of the urban branch of Freeline skating when compare to the other groups around the world and he wanted to depict that in the logo design.
Another one of our best friends created a simple hand drawn silhouette of what looks like one of us Freeline skating and the idea stuck…
This was easy work, all I had to do was trace the graphic line for line to satisfy the request and this is the digital vector rendition of the artwork…

Once that was done I decided to just play around with a few color ways by using the colors from all major Bay Area sports teams:
Golden State Warriors
Oakland A's
Oakland Raiders
San Francisco 49ers
San Francisco Giants
San Jose Sharks
